About

Delighted to welcome Ailie Ormston and Tim Fraser back to London to celebrate the landing of their new LP 'It Changes', supported by two very good friends in a so far unheard cello / guitar duo. Ailie Ormston and Tim Fraser - Incorporating samples of collaborative session material, live vocals, automated MIDI instrumentation and adhoc field recordings, Ailie Ormston and Tim Fraser resurrect a fractured rave scene shot through with Charles M. Schulz styled anxiety and hope - equal parts cynical and sentimental. "One part James Ferarro, one part Theo Burt, one part Farmers Manual?" - Boomkat --- Lia Mazzari and Teresa Cos New cello & guitar duo from two of our favourite Italians. "As a sound artist and performer Lia Mazzari’s practice is often collaborative, engaging new audiences through encounters with art in non-conventional spaces, physical and virtual. She likes to explore the divisions of site and non-site, private and public through live performance, sound installation and urban intervention. Lia creates recorded and live events that embrace the broader sense of sound in space . This fluid relationship with her environment and towards sonic activism as well as developing an extended technique with cello and whips form the crux of her practice." indebted forever to rhythmanalysis and depth psychology, Teresa Cos is an artist working at the intersection of film and experimental music, producing audiovisual installations and performances disrupting culturally and historically fabricated notions of time, identity, memory and desire - combining traditional film and musical syntax with randomised processes intrinsic to improvisation and automation (the loop), Cos explores the potential of live and expanded cinema to re-appropriate the space of wonder and dreaming too long exploited by the capitalist spell. --- DJs Marine & Lina Responsible for the first big night out we had at Spanners this year, DJs Marine & Lina are part of the force behind the recent Black Tower Sound System nights and the semi regular What Comes To Mind broadcast on RTM.fm.
